The Florida Pollinator Plant Citizen Science Department at the University of Florida identified a crucial need for a mobile app to provide accessible resources for local gardeners, farmers, and volunteers. The goal was to facilitate learning about pollinators and plants in their respective areas while enabling them to contribute valuable research data to the University of Florida researchers. Our solution integrated an intuitive user interface with an engaging gamification system to foster user participation. Implementation of robust tools to allow researchers to monitor, verify, and refine user-contributed information, maintaining a delicate balance between user engagement and data integrity. The implementation of the powerful tools was supported by an efficient content management system while ensuring project objectives were met within budgetary constraints. The outcome was a mobile app offering interactive learning opportunities and gamification, empowering users to report pollinator information to a research database easily.
